Those neighborhoods are familiar, well-marketed, and easy to default to. However, as prices have climbed, I’m seeing more buyers pause, question high Mello-Roos, the density of the neighborhoods, and ask a more important question: Am I actually getting what I want for what I’m spending?
In those communities, you’re often paying for location, schools, and infrastructure, all of which matter. But those benefits come with tradeoffs. Smaller lots, less privacy, and limited flexibility in how the property can be used are part of that equation.
